Ranna's Music
Asian instruments, electronica, contemporary healing edge
Ranna's music has been used as the soundtracks for art exhibitions, documentaries, for her yoga videos and classes, and for her training programs and DVD projects. For these she emphasizes specific musical pulse, tempo, and dynamic to enhance the particular project.

Ranna® first learned guitar at age 11 years. These days she is equally at home with using computers to make music and ambient sounds or playing Japanese Koto, Japanese Shamisen, and Chinese Kucheng (illustrated above). As an extension of her use of sound as part of her art exhibitions since the early 1980s, Ranna's interest and training in Asian music ultimately found its way into in her PhD into which she incorporated ethnomusicological principles, auditory and visual perception and cognition, and experimentation on Koto, Shamisen and found instruments for the soundtrack of her doctoral art exhibition.
